BROMSGROVE Ladies began their Midlands Feeder League West campaign with a 4-2 home defeat against Telford.

The result was rough on Bromsgrove' hocley players, who were caught on the break than three times during the game.

Twice Telford latched onto two loose midfield passes to score before Bromsgrove battled back.

Sustained attacking play saw both Katy Masters and Stacey Nash go close before Bromsgrove finally pulled a goal back when a superb run by Laura Underhill set up Lucy Taylor to score.

Telford restored their two goal advantage with a shot that was deflected past goalkeeper Ali Powell.

Skipper Heather Nunnerley drove Bromgrove back forward for 'Tricky ' Burton to score.

But as Bromsgrove pressed forward in search of an equaliser, they got themselves caught on the break for a third time to lose 4-2.

Coach Alan Gormley said: " We had far more attacks and shots on goal than Telford, but the difference was, they converted theirs and we didn't."
