BROMSGROVE Sporting's penalty hero Nathan Vaughan has joined Worcester City.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Vanarama National League North strugglers until the end of the season.

He only made his debut for Sporting last Sunday, saving a spot-kick in their 2-0 victory over Buckland Athletic in the quarter-final of the FA Vase.

But Vaughan is now aiming to turnaround Worcester’s fortunes as they bid to end a run of 13 league matches without a win.

During his previous spell at City, Vaughan wrote himself into the club’s folklore with his penalty save in the 2-1 win at Coventry City in 2014 and outstanding displays against Scunthorpe United and Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

The former Kidderminster Harriers and Evesham United player made more than 60 appearances for Worcester before signing for National League outfit Solihull Moors last May.

He said: "When I got the message about returning I was very happy.

“I'm looking forward to getting back at it and putting in solid performances on the pitch for the City Faithful."
