JAYDEN Levitt lashed a magnificent 156 as Bromsgrove breezed to an impressive 33 run success over Moseley-based Attock in their opening Birmingham League Division One contest of the season.

Levitt took Attock's attack apart as he cracked 18 fours and four sixes to help Bromsgrove post a formidable total of 261 for six.

Ryan Pedley kept Levitt company with 41 while Worcestershire's Alexie Kervezee struck a belated 22.

Bromsgrove skipper Mark Evenson said: "It's not often we have a situation with Alexie coming into bat with just nine overs to go.

"Jayden's innings was a pleasure to watch, it was one of those champagne moments. He got dropped on 12, which was to prove extremely costly for Attock as the rest of his innings was completely chanceless."

In reply, Attock fell short on 228 for six despite the efforts of Asim Khan who reached 80 not out.

Bromsgrove face a tricky trip to newly promoted Tamworth who could include England Lions and Worcestershire player Joe Clarke in their ranks.

Experienced strike bowler Gareth Williams is set to make his debut for Bromsgrove and is likely to replace the unavailable Alex Wilkinson.
