ALVECHURCH have tied down 20-year-old striker Josh March to another 12 months at Lye Meadow after putting the marksman on contract.

Church boss Ian Long said: "It's the first contracted player we've ever had and a reward for the excellent season he's had.

"We've agreed a 12 month deal with options and it was only fitting that he should then go and get both goals in the 2-1 League Cup Final win over AFC Hinckley."

Long added: "We've identified three or four areas where we need to improve for next season and we'll be looking to add to the squad, although there's a couple of players who will be moving on."

Long confirmed that key players Tom Turton, Ryan Winwood, Andy Parsons, Dave Bellis and goalkeeper Paul Evans had all committed themselves to Church for next season.

Long added: "Most of the players in the squad have either played at Step 3 or 4 at non-league level so I don't think Northern Premier League Division One South will hold any surprises for us."

Church are due to complete the season this week when taking on Wednesfield in the J W Hunt Cup final.

The match is set to take place at Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux ground on Tuesday (May 23).
