NEW Ravens Seniors saw their fixture this Saturday 17th re scheduled against Sherwood Wolf Hunt due to low player numbers as well as ground issues in Sherwood.

On Sunday 18th July saw the under 9,11 and 15s playing away in Nottingham.

Under 11s played friendly fixtures with Nottingham to get all of the mixed teams some game time and experience while Under 9s played against Nottingham with some disappointment as the ref was playing adult rules for a small under 9 ability which really challenged the team, but they carried on and over the time picked it up well.

Under 15s had a great challenge not only by playing three teams but also the glaring heat. The team travelled with good numbers and a few new players, they all had the win in their sights and boy did they deliver.

They first played the home team Nottingham, they were equal at half time but after a team talk and some guidance from coach Jason Spafford, they pin pointed their errors and won the fixture 5 tries to 2.

Next up they battled Telford who in previous games has just nipped them to the win as they are very evenly matched teams, again Telford did the same this time and beat the Ravens 2-5.

They spurred on in the blistering heat to next face Sherwood Wolf Hunt, they played some brilliant rugby which paid off with a final score of 6 tries to 3. A great end to an action packed day.

All juniors are away next Sunday to Coventry followed by our own home Camping festival on July 1st & 2nd with activities and training by Super League team St Helens.

Seniors are also away this weekend on Saturday 24th @ Birmingham Bulldogs. Both further details on Seniors or Junior activities please call Director of Rugby Jason Spafford 07957 248464 or visit our website www.newravensrl.co.uk
