BARNT Green batted Birmingham League rivals Dorridge into submission after building a huge total of 334 for seven.

Opening batsmen Jamie Harrison and Tom Brown laid the foundation for an emphatic 185 run success by establishing a first wicket partnership of 133 before Harrison departed on 67.

Brown was then joined by Ed Pollock as the pair then took the total to 244 before Brown fell for 90.

Pollock went onto plunder a further 82 as Dorridge's bowling attack became ever more dismantled.

The Green then followed up with the ball by removing Dorridge for 149 all out in 31 overs.

Skipper Andy Sutton led from the front by taking four for 33 off eight overs while Warwickshire leg spinner Josh Poysden picked up four for 56.

Sutton said: "I lost the toss again and Dorridge inserted us to bat first. But we've been working really hard on our game and this time the batting stood up.

"It was especially pleasing considering we were without England under-19 player Tom Banton who had to travel to Truro for a Somerset Second XI T20 game on Sunday.

"Then we still had the task of bowling Dorridge out, which isn't easy on a very good Barnt Green wicket, but we bowled well and put the ball in good areas."

Sutton will be looking for more of the same this Saturday when the Green entertain West Bromwich Dartmouth at Cherry Hill Road, he added: "With the players we have available to us, we should be capable of beating anyone in this league".

The Green also travel to Malvern on Sunday to take on Barnards Green in the National T20 competition.
