DROITWICH'S mixed D team picked up a superb 4-0 victory at home to Hallow C to keep their Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer Tennis League Division Five West survival hopes alive.
Christina Sellers and Peter Fawcus won both of their matches 6-0, 6-0 while Liz French and Nigel Hughes triumphed 6-3, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 for a straightforward victory.
The B team travelled to Bewdley A in their bid to steer clear of the drop zone in Division Two but lost 4-0.
Margaret Hughes and Ben Steel fell 6-3, 7-5 and 6-2, 7-5 while Linda Price and John Moran went down 6-1, 7-5 and 6-1, 6-2.
The men’s D team ended their summer campaign with a winning draw at Wall Heath C to finish fourth in Division Eight East.
John Wright and Dave Wicks won 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-2 but Ian Ross and Scott Gregory lost 6-2, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-1.
The young pairing of James Stanford and Josh McEvilly triumphed 6-4, 6-1 and despite a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 defeat in their second match did enough to seal the winning draw.
