FAIRFIELD Villa suffered a second heavy beating this season when they slumped to a 4-0 reverse against Smithswood Firs in Midland League Division Two.
It follows hard on the heels of their 5-1 drubbing by Redditch Borough and Villa spokesman Paul Oakes admitted: "It could have been worse.
"Smithswood were much the better side attacking-wise while we seem to be struggling with confidence at the moment. But I'm certain we've got the type of players who can turn things around."
Curtis Thomas gave Smithswood an early lead before late goals from Trea Bertie and a Martin Crawford brace sealed the points.
Ryan Molesworth should return to Villa's ranks for their Bank Holiday Monday derby clash with Droitwich Spa.
But key players Dan Wilkes, Peter Jenvey and Ben Smith are still nursing injuries and likely to be absent.
