FIRED up Fairfield Villa picked up their second straight success after pulling off a 3-0 win at bottom side Pelsall Villa.

Fairfield rocked their hosts with a third minute goal from Clayton Homer and held onto that lead until the second half when prolific striker Connor Collins and Jarred Hill both punished Pelsall on the break.

It was Connor Collins' 90th goal for Fairfield in 92 appearences.

Spokesman Paul Oaks said: "Tactically, we got it absolutely right. We went with a 4-5-1 line-up and once we got in front, we then soaked up everything Pelsall could throw at us before hitting them on the breakaway."

Oakes also stressed that Pelsall were much better than their league position suggested and added: "Pelsall have recently taken over Walsall Wood Reserves and consequently have gained an influx of players.

"They'd drawn their three previous games and are clearly an improving side. From what we saw last Saturday, Pelsall won't be at the bottom for long."

Fairfield have been reinstated into the Worcestershire Junior County Cup competition and look to progress this Saturday when they entertain Malvern Town under-21's at the Recreation Ground.

Oakes continued: "Malvern Town's under-21's play in the Herefordshire Premier Division, which is quite a strong league. We know very little about them but have to respect them as they put Bromsgrove Sporting under-21's out of the competition in the previous round."
