DROITWICH’S Kazoku-Kan ace Eleanor Warburton has been crowned a Welsh national judo champion.
The teenager, pictured left, competed in the over 70kg category in Bangor and dominated her first contest before winning the second in just under 10 seconds to claim the gold medal.
Club-mate Liam Jones won a gold at the Midland Area School Championships in Coventry despite facing opponents with more competition experience.
He also carried away the Fortis Living Inspiration award from a ceremony at the University of Worcester Arena.
Kazoku-Kan instructor Rich Morrish said: “We are very proud of these students.
“They go into these competitions with courage and determination and put their hearts into each and every competition they do.
“To earn a title or an award is an honour for them and we couldn’t be happier for them.”
The judo club train every Friday evening at Physique Fitness on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate.
