FAIRFIELD Villa fancy giving their season a big lift this Saturday when they face Knowle in the Les James Cup quarter-finals.
With Villa currently languishing third from bottom in Midland League Division Two, officials believe cup success could transform their prospects this term.
Villa spokesman Paul Oakes admitted: "Although I think a top four place is beyond us this season, there's no reason why we can't finish in the top half of the table.
"The fact we've been struggling in the league makes the game against Knowle a big occasion for us - especially as whoever wins will have home advantage against either Coton Green or Boldmere Sports and Social in the semi-finals".
Villa are hoping to add to their ranks ahead of their trip to Knowle and are attempting to sign Stourbridge youth team midfield player Jack James together with Liam Davies, who arrived at Villa several weeks ago after relocating to the area, but has only now become available for selection owing to work commitments.
