STUDLEY finally returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Paget Rangers on Midland League One thanks to a wonder goal from skipper Danny Ludlow.

The outcome was sealed when Ludlow smashed home a 25 yard free kick into the top corner of the net.

Studley boss Vaughan Pearshouse declared: "It was a wonderful goal, worthy of winning any match. Even Paget manager Jason Lanns admitted it was a piece of pure class."

Sudley have no time to rest on their laurels as their fixtures come thick and fast.

On Tuesday they lost 0-6 to champions elect Walsall Wood and they travel to Coventry Copsewood on Thursday.

This Saturday, they host Uttoxeter Town at the Beehive before travelling to Heath Hayes the following Tuesday.

Pearshouse said: "The Midland League actually asked if we could play three times in three days but we declined.

"We've still got 10 more games to cram in and to be honest, I've never known anything like it.

"I get the feeling most people will be glad to see the back of this season."
