EVE Smiley and Charis Pavely wrote themselves into the rich history of Bromsgrove Cricket Club when they became the first girls to play in an open age cricket match for the club.
The pair made their debut for the club’s Fourth XI in a Worcester County League fixture against a strong Evesham seconds side.
Batting first, Bromsgrove scored a slightly under par 250 thanks to Richard Barnes (92) and Ian Ingram (60). Evesham raced to a two wicket win despite losing a flurry of wickets late on.
Eve returned bowling figures of two for 30 and Charis took one for 25 as well as taking a stunning catch.
