AVONCROFT pulled off a fabulous two wicket win over Hanley Castle and Upton in Worcester County League Division Three.
In what proved a real run harvest, Avoncroft chased down a huge Hanley Castle total of 291 for nine to seal victory with 10 balls to spare.
Hanley Castle skipper Will St Ledger-Chambers struck 62 and found support from George Burrell's 51 as his side set an imposing target, Paul Athey proving pick of Avoncroft's bowling attack by taking two for 32.
Undaunted, Avoncroft took up the chase in reply through opening bats Alex Brunt and Danny Elliott.
The pair put on 139 for the opening partnership, Brunt batting his way to 104 while Elliott added 22.
Wicketkeeper Jonty Heslop on 31 and Luke Townsend with 41 not out saw Avoncroft over the line on 292 for eight.
