DROITWICH Spa completed an early West Midlands Football League Division One double over Sikh Hunters with a second 4-0 success.

The result again slightly flattered hosts Spa who could not make their early dominance pay.

Keeper Liam Haynes tipped James Lemon’s effort over while Haydn Morris, Jack Davies and Mike Seeley missed opportunities.

Hunters took over as Hinesh Patel and Kam Sandhu spurned chances before Mitch Lawley fired just the wrong side of the post.

Ex-Stourbridge forward Justin Nisbett hit the woodwork as Spa got through the pressure unscathed.

And on 38 minutes the lively Davies’ effort squirmed under Haynes to give Droitwich the lead.

Just minutes later the ball was hoisted into the box by Morris and Matty Hunt rose highest to powerfully head home.

Hunters created little in the second half until the introduction of Tyrone Atkinson who hit the woodwork and had two other chances that came to nothing.

And Spa extended their lead to 3-0 as Bradley Burgess’ goalbound shot was diverted into the net by Ash Smith.

Droitwich applied more pressure and Haynes saved from Burgess and Lemon while the bar was rattled by Seeley’s powerful header.

The Saltmen scored the goal of the game with just over 10 minutes to go as Morris’ pinpoint free-kick found Lemon who powered an unstoppable header into the far corner.

Spa climbed to third in the table ahead of Wednesday’s visit of struggling Willenhall Town (7.45pm).

They host Team Dudley on Saturday at Stourport’s Walshes Meadow (3pm).
