A WORCESTER St John's Cycling Club prospect competed in the National Youth Championship final.
After qualifying by finishing third in the Midlands competition in August, Harry Tait, 16, tackled a 10-mile course in Norfolk in a time of 22 minutes eight seconds.
Tait, who attends Royal Grammar School Worcester, averaged 27.1mph and finished 41st overall out of 110 riders from all over the country and 21st in his younger junior rider category.
