Athletes shine in road race

MEMBERS of Droitwich Athletics Club entered the Treat MT8 - a course that covers eight miles of off road racing.

Peter Lymer was the first Droitwich male to complete the course in 58 minutes and 56 seconds, followed closely by Peter Robinson (1.02.16) and Tim Vaughan (1.02.19).

Allison Phillips was the first lady home for Droitwich with a time of 1.07.38.

Karen Stone was next in 1.11.08, followed by Jayne Kavanagh who completed in 1.12.54.

Droitwich also had some of their athletes competing in the Forest of Dean half marathon.

Robinson was the first to complete the half marathon distance across forest tracks in a time of 1.46.59.

He was closely followed by Tony Briggs (1.47.15), Angela Twine (1.58.51), Allison Phillips (2.00.28) and Stone (2.03.54).
