McHale set to leave

Chris McHale - On the way out Chris McHale - On the way out

DEFENDER Chris McHale is set to leave Bromsgrove Rovers.

He joined Rovers in 2006 from Kidderminster Harriers and has made well over 100 appearances for the Greens but is set to join former manager Rod Brown at Stratford Town.

Manager John Snape was this week still waiting on the future of Tom Warmer, Barry Woolley and Sam Alsop.

But he was looking to sign two more players, a left sided forward and central midfield player, as he prepares his team for the 2009-10 season.

Snape said: “Chris has indicated his future might lie elsewhere and we are still waiting to hear from Tom, Barry and Sam but would like their future sorted out before pre-season training starts.

“I am looking for an attacker and midfielder and have targeted two players from this level and I am hopeful of doing business towards the end of the week.

“But I have to keep their names under wraps right now so not to attract attention from other clubs because I am very hopeful they will come here.”

Meanwhile, a supporters forum planned for tomorrow (Thursday) has been postponed and will be re-arranged for a date closer to the start of the season.

Also in doubt is a proposed pre-season friendly aginst Halesowen Town due to take place at home on Saturday July 18.

Added to the friendly list though is a game at Coleshill Town on Thursday July 23 and a home game with Brackley Town on Saturday August 8.

Work on the shed end of the Victoria Ground by All 4 One Engineering is nearing completion and an official unveiling is planned.

The Redditch based engineering firm has took on the work of replacing the existing metal structure with newer materials and putting on a new roof.

Rovers began links with the firm last season and All 4 One will also provide some sponsorship and an employee has developed a new offical Rovers website.

Given the web address www.bromsgrove rovers fc.com, it will go live from Monday.
