BUDDING Andy Murrays and Venus Williams’ lined up for coaching and a Wimbledon-style tournament at Bromsgrove Tennis Club, but there were no strawberries and cream in sight.
The mini tennis tournament, won by Jacob Willis, was held for under 7s as part of the ongoing training which goes on at The Ryland Centre and the club headquarters at Aston Fields all year round.
Mini tennis takes place on a smaller court, with smaller rackets and balls that bounce less, giving youngsters an introduction to the sport before they go onto a full size court.
Coaches at Bromsgrove give instruction to youngsters aged from four upwards at the two centres.
Anyone who is interested in getting their child involved can call Richard Lawton at the club on 01527 575059 or 07889 479140 or Terry Franks on 01527 873324.
