Romsley (15pts) 225 all out
Avoncroft (9pts) 179-8
Match drawn
FOR the second week running, Avoncroft came off second best in a tightly fought Crusader Worcestershire League Division Two contest, with a losing draw against the side who finished one place above them last season.
Having been put into bat, Romsley took a positive approach to coping with the damp conditions, looking for every opportunity to throw the bat.
Croft kept things under control early on, with Dave James picking up a couple of wickets and Adam Rodway again bowling well with little reward.

At 89-5, Croft had hopes of dismissing the visitors for an under par score, but the Romsley middle order had other ideas.
Held together by a controlled knock of 61 from skipper Paul Morgan, Romsley began to find success from their attacking play.
Tim Windsor produced a positive innings of 42, and Robert Beaumont smashed 30 not out as the visitors finished on 225 all out.
Paul Athey was the pick of the bowlers, with 4-44 from 17 overs, and Will Sach also picked up three wickets late on.
Things didn't look good for Croft as they crashed to 12-2 in reply, but steady batting from Spencer Cox (33) and Dave James (22) evened things up.
Unfortunately, just as they had done at Bewdley the previous week, Croft managed to lose both of their set batsmen in successive overs, and this stilted the run chase.
Dave Apperley (56) did his best to keep things going, but the target of 226 was out of reach on a wicket still offering help to the bowlers.
Croft showed their battling characteristics in ensuring that Romsley did not leave with a victory, but they were left to rue a disappointing effort in the field which left them too much to do with the bat.
