On Sunday, Green were edged out by just one run in their Cockspur National Knockout Cup first round clash at Water Orton.
Nathan Newport took 3-14 in an accomplished bowling performance, which saw Green knock the home side over for 109 from their 34.3 overs.
Newport (17) and Shephard (30) made a bright start to the reply, but the three-pronged attack of Gregory Lawley (3-26), Stephen Bevan (4-16) and Greg Hunt (3-17) ripped through the middle order as the visitors collapsed to 108 all out from 27.3 overs.
