BARNT Green's bowlers overpowered Kenilworth Wardens to take maximum points on Saturday.

Batting first, Green's openers Gavin Shephard (35) and Nathan Newport (36) made bright starts but were unable to build on them.

Scott Stenning was causing havoc and Newport was the first of his victims on the way to figures of 4-39.

Skipper Dougie Brown was the only other bastmen to get out of the blocks before being stumped by Eian Marillier off Stenning's bowling for 20.

Stenning added the wickets of Mehraj Ahmed (3) and Phil Mann (pictured) (6) but Green held on to see out their 55 overs.

In reply, Green produced a dominant all-round bowling display of their own.

New-boy Paul Coverdale stood out with 4-25, including the wicket of dangerous opener Byng (36).

Brown weighed in with 2-23, and Mann on his return took 2-20 from his ten overs, which included four maidens.

There was also a wicket each for Ahmed and Shephard as Kenilworth were sent packing in the 39th over.
