JOINT manager Paul Oakes believes his Fairfield Villa side are nicely poised for next season after they rounded off their Midland Combination Division One campaign in style with a 5-1 hammering of Mile Oak Rovers.
Villa look set to end the season in seventh place after goals from Duncan Tye, Dean Beagan, Alti Coakley and two penalties from Stuart Hall earned them a comprehensive away win.
With Hall, Beagan and Andy Nichol all finishing the season on 19 goals, and the recent emergence of youngster Lewis Cosgrove in midfield, Oakes doesn't expect to carry out major surgery on his squad in the summer.

However, he believes veteran utility man Carl Dainter may retire in the summer.
Oakes said: "It was nice to finish on a high.
"Duncan Tye is back to what he was earlier in the season and we have managed to sure up the defence as well.
"We have had a chat already and Carl Dainter may decide to retire.
"Lewis was a bonus, but we certainly aren't looking for anybody."
Droitwich Spa, who suffered a 2-0 Division One defeat at Knowle last Tuesday, finish off their season tomorrow (Thursday), when they host Northfield Town (6.30pm).
In the Premier Division, Barnt Green Spartak travel to Massey Ferguson.
Droitwich Spa reserves drew 2-2 with Enville Athletic in Division Two.
