9:10am Wednesday 2nd April 2008

BROMSGROVE riders were in action at the NG Road Racing meeting at the Pembrey race circuit in South Wales.

Scott Mead from Charford raced to two third place finishes in his Formula 125 class.

The 13-year-old, who rides an Aprilia 125, had qualified in first and third respectively.

Mead was also first in the Novice Open rookie standings.

In the George White 600 race, Steve Ackah from Stoke Heath missed qualification because of a flat battery.

But the 33-year-old, on his Honda CBR 600 RR, made a major recovery to work his way up from 21st to fourth in race one.

After starting 29th in race two, Ackah again had to work his way through the field and finished 23rd.

Bromsgrove's Jarrod Withey qualified in second in race one of the Sound of Thunder class but failed to finish on his Honda VTR SP1.

However, after finishing third in race two qualification, he rode to an impressive third place.
