GJ Singh will quit as manager of Barnt Green Spartak FC at the end of the current campaign.
The Midland Combination Premier Division side, who play their home games at Alvechurch FC's Lye Meadow, were recently the subject of a takeover, although Singh had been expected to stay on.
Singh has overseen the club's transformation from Sunday League football and last season guided them to both the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup and the Worcestershire Senior Urn.
It has been a turbulent season for the club, who were forced to replay their FA Cup qualifying round clash with Willenhall Town after fielding an ineligible player.
Spartak had won the original tie 3-2 but went on to lose the rearranged clash at Noose Lane 3-1.
They have also endured as topsy-turvy league season, and they were in danger of facing a relegation battle until recent results picked up.
Singh revealed is set to seek a new challenge.
He said: "I was going to stay on but I had a think about a few things and I have decided that it would be best for everyone if I moved on.
"I had a call from the new chairman asking me to reconsider but I have declined.
"It is a chance for me to move on and have a fresh start.
"I have had a call from two or three other sides who are interested in talking to me.
"There is no one major reason for my decision, but there are a few little things that aren't right."
