TABLE TENNIS: The closest game in Division One of the Bromsgrove and Redditch League last week was between Astwood Bank and Bentley Arrows A' with Bank just getting home 6-4 when they won the doubles.
For Bank, David Wood and Mervyn Wood both won two games each and teamed up to win the doubles, while Jim Connor got their other win.
For Bentley, Mick Kendall was man of the match, winning all three of his singles, but they only got one more through Bob Watts.
Barnt Green B' were at home to Droitwich Print and won 7-3.
Ian Scott, Jason McFall and Chris Dilworth all won two singles each for Green. Scott and Dillsworth also won the doubles.
For Droitwich, Trevor Simmons was man of the match, winning all of his singles games.
Droitwich Tigers won 7-3 at home to West Midland Phones B'.
Jason Adams won his three singles for Droitwich, with Peter Wozniak winning two and Russell Evans one.
Wozniak and Evans also won the doubles. For Phones, Fred Harrison won two and Steve Proctor one.
Droitwich Hawks were too strong for SPSP, winning 9-1.
Kate Hughes and David Rogers both won three singles for Droitwich with Nick Whitham getting two.
Hughes and Rogers also won the doubles, while Dave Elliot got SPSP's win.
Droitwich Sharks could only get two players against league leaders Barnt Green A' and lost 10-0.
In Division Two Bentley Arrows C' lost 7-3 at home to Droitwich Dragons.
Alan Davey did best for Droitwich winning all three of his singles with Ben Law winning two and Alex Brewer one.
Law and Brewer also won the doubles for Droitwich.
Craig Allen won two games and Chris Barne one.
Barnt Green Hornets were away at Studley Road Nomads and won 8-2.
Darren Williams and Graeme Farrell both won three singles for the Hornets with Ivor Anderson getting one.
Farrell and Anderson also won the doubles.
Bernie Leech and Jeff Lines won one singles game each for the Nomads.
Bentley Arrows B' were too strong for Droitwich Spa Eagles, winning 10-0.
