LOCAL riders are in action in the first round of the 2008 British Speed Hill-Climb championship at Prescott on Sunday.
Set in the beautiful Cotswold hillside setting between Evesham and Cheltenham, 190 competitors are set to power their way up the challenging 1127 yard tarmac course.
Although not competing for the Championship itself, several local drivers are taking part in the event.

From Romsley near Bromsgrove are Mike and Will Hall.
Mike drives his powerful five-litre Morgan Plus 8 while Will moves into single-seaters this year with a 1300cc Suzuki-powered Force PC.
Hanbury resident Darren Luke also drives a Force, this one with a 1070cc Suzuki in the back.
In the two-litre racing car class are Bromsgrove's Phil Darbyshire, sharing strawberry farmer John Jones' Pilbeam MP82.
Droitwich residents feature in the small racing car classes.
David Oldridge stands a good chance of winning the 600cc class in his Yamaha-engined OMS Hornet while Hamish Lindsay, owner of Bromsgrove garage and car tuning business HLM Motorsport, moves up into the 1100cc class in his Suzuki-powered Jedi.
