THE team of Derek Mace, Jo Smallwood, Dave Smallwood and Ian Barber posted a stunning net score of 55.2 to win Bromsgrove Golf Club's Spring Scramble.
A large field of 136 players turned out for the opening competition of the year.
The Bromsgrove West Midlands League team had a successful start to their campaign winning 4-0 at home to Dudley.
The winning team comprised of John Barratt and Dave Thompson (won 6-4), Craig Boland and Clive Richards (won 6-4), Dave Smallwood and Chris Fox (won 3-2) and Matt Smith and Derek Mace (won 3-1).
In the first round of the Whitewebbs Trophy, Bromsgrove Ladies recorded a fine 4-1 victory over Cocks Moor Woods Golf Club.
The Bromsgrove team comprised of Debbie Degge, Andrea Keirnan, Jill Bullock, Val Price and Sonya Compton. Bromsgrove will be away to Tapton Park in round two.

Bromsgrove's 17-24 team recorded a opening day victory against Warley Woods in defence of their Birmingham League One title.
The match was played at the Stratford Road course in difficult wind and rainy conditions.
This resulted in relatively low scoring but Bromsgrove ran out winners by 229-210 points.
The Bromsgrove team was Bob Hodges (32pts), Rob Millward (32pts), Curt Price (33pts), Adrian Thomson (22pts), Rob Greening (30pts), John Upperton (23pts), Barrie Claridge (32pts), Steve Hart (25pts).
