Baxter looking for his Boars to take positives

ROSS Baxter believes Bromsgrove must build on the positive performance of the weekend when fourth-placed Otley visit Finstall Park on Saturday.
The Boars tasted their first defeat in six National Two North games on Saturday when they were shot down 21-10 at Caldy.
But Baxter was pleased with the dominant performance although he felt they needed to be more ruthless.
He said: “As a coach I was delighted with the effort and application of the players.
“We were physical and committed and controlled the game for long periods.
“The only areas where we did not work was in the kicking, where we missed six and that’s something we’ve got to work on.
“There were also five or six chances to score tries we didn’t take but there’s no doubt there are lots of positives to take from the Caldy game.”
Bromsgrove now face an Otley side on Saturday (2.15pm ko) that have won their last five matches in a row to put themselves back in contention for a top-two spot.
The Finstall Park outfit suffered a narrow loss in West Yorkshire in a game they been leading. That loss was part of an eight-game losing run.
Since then, they turned around their season with a series of solid displays.
Baxter said: “We have said before about adding more to our game and this is another chance to see how much we have.
“Before Christmas we were doing the basics well but as Caldy showed against top half of the table sides you need to be sharper up front.
“We will do our best to go out with intensity and more that match Otley and then we will see how it goes from there.”
Bromsgrove will be without the injured Wayne Cooper, while Paul Norris is a double because of other commitments.
