Ladies taste first loss

TENNIS: Bromsgrove Ladies B suffered their first defeat of the season as they were edged out by Wall Heath.

Joan McGregor and Kelly Kenward lost to Heath’s debutant first pair of Louise Scott and Chloe Stephenson 6-2, 6-1, as did Marie Hackett and Millie Doherty who went down 6-0, 6-2.

However, both Bromsgrove pairs came back against Wall Heath’s Maria Siviter and Caroline Trinham. McGregor and Kenward won 6-2, 6-3 and Hackett and Doherty won 7-6, 6-2.

With sets won equal, the countback of games won meant Wall took the extra point.

Both the Ladies A team and D team had a difficult return after a lay off due to the weather.

The A side lost away to a strong Stourbridge A outfit 4-0.

The D side also went down 4-0 at home to Belbroughton — their first defeat this season.
