THE ladies team earned Bromsgrove and Redditch AC’s biggest acheivment in a decade as they sealed bronze in the Midlands Women’s Cross Country League.

The trio of Katy Anderson, Sally Hogan and Tamara Ball have been models of consistency over the campaign and more strong performances in Cheltenham on Saturday made sure of the silverware.

Out of the 180 entrants, Hogan finished 18th overall (fourth in age category) followed by Anderson (28th), Ball (47th), Melanie Hepke (63rd), Charlotte Ball (87th) and Jane Anderson (115th), Hogan also earned bronze in the under-20s age categories for the series.

Meanwhile, the men were also racing at Cheltenham in the final race of the DivisionTwo Birmingham League series.

Richard Lomas was first in for the club in 15th position followed by Joe Smith (48th), Kevin Lanckham (51st), Sean Bowden (65th), Simon Lanckham (74th), Steve Williams (75th), Dean Hartshorn (98th), Ian Keyte (100th), Darryll Thomas (129th), Jamie Dancyger (147th), Matthew Henney (158th), Peter Hawcroft (164th), Ian Nutter (172nd). Over 200 athletes took part.

The Juniors took part in their final West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League race on Sunday held in Perry Barr.

The team finished ninth overall on the day out of 20 teams and are awaiting confirmation that they also took ninth across the series, which would see them climb up the league table a place from last year.

U15s boys: Ben O’Connor (46th), Under 13 Boys: Will Moss (14th), Joshua Wiseman (44th), Nicholas Jones (46th), Dominic Gardner (59th), Elliot Omahony (64th), Lenny Sawyer (67th).

U11s boys: Felix Gill (22nd), Josh Osborne-Patel (62nd), Josh Keyte (89th), Lewis Byng (98th).

U17s women: Anna Ball (14th), Katie Plummer (17th).

U15s girls: Ruth Gameson (29th), Abbie Kemp (44th), Lillie Murphy (51st), Eve Greenan (52nd). Under 13 Girls: Megan Nicod (15th), Livvy Worth (34th), Amy Mijovic-Couldwell (41st), Thea Bartoszewicz (92nd).

U11s girls: Anna Nicod (28th), Kitty Luscombe (55th), Buffy Pinnegar (122nd).
