ASTON Fields Middle School led the way for the district as pupils from Bromsgrove and Droitwich excelled at the Worcestershire Winter Games.

The school’s boys and girls year eight teams won their age section of the sportshall athletics, which included track and field events.

More than 1,000 children from schools across the county came together last Thursday to compete in Worcester.

Witton Middle School’s Dan Hill won the boys year six cross country, while in the girls Leah Spencer from Meadow Green Primary was also triumphant.

St John’s Middle School won the year five and six athletics tournament.

There was success for North Bromsgrove High School in the key stage four badminton, while Bromsgrove School slam dunked the opposition in the year nine basketball.
