Brilliant Bailey at the double

SPRINTER Tyriq Bailey was the star as Bromsgrove and Redditch AC finished fifth in the final round of the Heart of England Track and Field League.
Bailey (pictured above) was in good form in the under-15s category, running a brilliant 100 metres to win in a personal best time of 11.5 seconds.
The young sprinter then stepped up to 200m, which he won in another PB of 23.6, with Peter Monaghan placing fifth with 29.3s (PB) in the B race.
In the under-13s, Lewis Byng came third in the 100m, while Olive Byton took the same position in the B race.
Flora Skinner finished third in the under-13s 100m with a PB of 14.5. Joshua Pearson tasted victory in the under-13s 200m in 27.3, while Bytom was third in the B race with a best of 31.0.
The senior girls saw Romy Naven place second in 27.2 in the 200m.
Jessica Bennett won the under-15s 300m in a personal best time of 44.7, while Oliver Kemp placed fifth in the under-17 400m race in 59.5 with Andrew Pearson winning the B race in 56.9 (PB).
The under-11s 600m saw a convincing win by Daisy Clements in 2.02.3.
Cameron Cooper led by four seconds to win the under-13s 800m in 2.37.6, while in the under-15s Megan Nicod took third in the 800m and Beth Lloyd took the under-13s race in 2.39.6.
There was a third place for Lewis Anderson in the under-17s 1,500m, with a runner-up spot for Conor Smith in the under-15s. There were more second places for Katie Plummer (senior women’s, 5.37.8) and Amy Tongue (under-13s, 5.56.7).
Pearson won the boys 75 hurdles in 13.8 and Dominic Gardner took 3rd in the under-15s 80m hurdles in 15.5.
Daisy Clements clinched first in the under-11s long jump of 3.72 metres.
In the throwing competitions, Harry Onions placed second in the under-17 shot put with 10.70m while Kemp won the B competition with 8.78m.
Byng threw his shot 7.28m to win the under-13s competition with Pearson taking second with 5.55m in the B competition.
There was a third place for Heather Knight in the under-15s shot put (7.44m), with Megan Nicod taking 3rd in the B competition with 6.23m.
Beth Lloyd (6.94m) was second in the under-13s.
