Pilkington XXX 1, Bromsgrove Sporting 2.
SPORTING battled back from a goal down to beat Pilkington in Birmingham and stretched their unbeaten run to five matches.
Second half strikes by Matt Poyner and James Johnson ensured the Rouslers cancelled out Daniel Tierney’s opening effort for the home side and earned all three points in the Midland Combination Premier.
Joe Brookes saw a goalbound header cleared off the line by Sporting but the visitors found themselves trailing in the 27th minute when debutant Joe O’Toole gave the ball away and Tierney rode Chris Gleadow’s challenge to beat keeper Jake Bedford.
Pilkington’s Joe Lawley also flashed an effort across the face of goal before the break.
Brett Mander and Danny Edwards replaced the injured pair of Gleadow and Luke Darby at the start of the second half, with Danny Morris and Chris Duggan switching to central defence.
Sporting levelled in the 58th minute when Poyner headed home a Will Tibbetts cross.
Johnson made sure of the points when he sprung the offside trap in the 76th minute and rounded keeper Chris Mole.
