THE visit of Midland Combination Premier leaders Brocton to the Victoria Ground on Saturday is the perfect way for Bromsgrove Sporting to bounce back, according to boss Adie Mander.

The Rouslers are licking their wounds after Saturday’s 3-1 error strewn defeat at Lichfield City.

Sporting had Craig Jones sent off and conceded two penalties after a poor display at the back.

Now runaway leaders Brocton come to town looking for an immediate answer to their 4-1 loss to Littletons, which was their first reverse in the league this season.

But Mander is looking forward to this daunting fixture.

He said: “We were a mess at the back, we were too square, over-played the ball in wrong areas and were caught out at Lichfield.

“We looked a bit shaky at the start but I didn’t want the first half to end as we were the better side.

“I was looking for us to push on when we conceded two penalties and made so many errors.

“But I think the Brocton match is the perfect way to respond.

“We lost narrowly at their place and I think we have improved since then, so we will get to see how far we’ve come.

“There will be a good atmosphere at the Victoria Ground so I am looking forward to it.”

Bromsgrove are currently in fifth place and trail Brocton by nine points, although Sporting have played three more games.”

Rico Taylor has been the subject of a seven-day approach by Midlands Alliance side Alvechurch last week.

l Meanwhile, Sporting have organised a Christmas disco at the Victoria Ground’s social club for Saturday, December 21, (7.30pm start). Entry £5.
