BROMSGROVE Sporting are set to make improvements to the Victoria Ground after securing grants from the FA.

The club are set to receive £170,000 worth of grants from football’s governing body.

Sporting will use the cash injection to replace the floodlights, make two-thirds of the roof at the venue more energy efficient and also set up a system which collects rain water, which can be used on the pitch.

The club took part in the FA’s grant-matching system using the £50,000 they received from Budweiser’s Club Futures programme to bring in desperately needed funds to improve the ground.

Teece said: “The grants will allow the club to really make improvements and make long-term savings.

“If we can save money on water and heating bills, then that’s a fantastic boost.”

Adrian Mander’s team are unbeaten in ten league games and after Saturday’s 6-0 victory over Alvis Sporting can still win the Midland Combination Premier, although Brocton are in the driving seat.

Off it, the chairman believes the club could break even for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sporting will be hoping to book a place in the Midland Combination Challenge Cup final, which will be hosted at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium, when they go to Stafford Town in the last four on Saturday (3pm ko).

Mander said: “We would love to go all the way. To play at the Bescot Stadium would be a great day out for everyone at the club.”
