RUBERY Oak stunned favourites Victoria Barnt Green 3-2 to win the Bromsgrove and District League Premier Cup on Sunday.

Both teams settled well and played good football early doors; Vic top scorer Richard Bishop had the first chance on 8 minutes but his header flashed wide.

Rubery Oak took the lead on nine minutes when Josh Fergusson the tall Oak striker caused mayhem in the box and the pocket dynamo Nathan Eaton was first to react and he prodded the ball home from close range.

Victoria were back in the game on 18 minutes after Shaun May slotted home following a good pass from Stuart Hall.

But Oak bounced back when Jon Myrie headed home.

In the second half, Rubery extended their lead when Nick Wilson scored at the back post.

Barnt Green were kept at bay by inspired keeper James Carne and despite substitute Scott Smith bagging an injury second, Oak held on.
