Bromsgrove Sporting 10, Southam United 0

HOT-SHOT Mark Bellingham bagged five goals as Sporting routed Southam at the Victoria Ground on Saturday.

Chris 'Billy' Russell also waded in with three as the Rouslers bounced back from their Premier Cup loss against Stafford in impressive style.

They are now 12 games unbeaten in the Midland Combination Premier, an run which includes seven straight wins.

They opened the scoring in the fifth minute when an unmarked Bellingham headed past keeper Michael Ojeil from a corner.

Sporting were piling on the pressure and Russell demonstrated skill and strength to cut inside onto his right foot and rifle the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Bellingham doubled his match tally in the 33rd minute after controlling Sean Williams’s cross and then sliding the ball underneath Ojeil’s arm to give the home side a 3-0 lead.

Russell pounced on an error by Matt Wyatt and curled the ball into the far right corner.

Williams made it 5-0 when he capitalised on a bad decision by Ojeil outside his area and tapped the ball into an empty net.

The goal-fest continued 30 seconds into the second half, when Craig Jones took advantage of poor marking at a corner.

Matt Poyer came close to getting the home side's seventh but his shot bounced inches wide of the far post.

Jones bettered that attempt just shy of the hour mark with his audacious scissor kick bringing a good save out of Ojeil.

But Bellingham completed his hat-trick after the ball stuck the striker’s knee from a cross and bounced into Ojeil’s bottom left hand corner.

The predatory hitman then produced a smart turn and finish after Jones had headed a corner into his path.

Russell secured his treble with a right-footed effort to make it 9-0.

Bellingham completed the rout and also made it 36 goals for a prolific campaign in the 75th minute, volleying home after good work by Sam Wilkinson.
