A JUNIOR from Bromsgrove beat over 900 children to meet British tennis heroine Laura Robson.
Josie Ward, 8, made the final of Virgin Active’s Search for a Tennis Ace competition.
The final, attended by 40 children aged between five and eight years old, took place at Virgin Active Chiswick Riverside on Saturday, June 7, and was judged by Robson, the LTA’s Head of Performance Tennis Simon Jones and Virgin Active’s National Racquets Programme Coordinator Simon Pearson.
She was put through her paces by the judging panel in a series of exercises that tested agility, hand eye co-ordination, rallying and racquet skills.
Abby Kelliher, from Tyneside, and Brighton’s Jacob Kelly were the overall winners who won three year memberships to Virgin Active.
