CAPTAIN Mark Evenson believes Bromsgrove face a vital two weeks which could define this season's Birmingham and District League Division One campaign.

The Boars, who are fourth in the table, go to third-placed Smethwick on Saturday and a week later travel to in-form Wolverhampton, who are currently second (both matches noon start).

Evenson said: "We've got two games coming up which could have a big say on where we finish this season.

"If we were to lose both, then we could find ourselves in sixth or seventh place, where we have finished over the last few seasons.

"But say we got two good results, it would mean that almost anything could happen, especially with six win or lose games at the end of the season.

"Smethwick are a bit of an unknown quantity to us but Wolverhampton have some very good players.

"They started the season poorly but the likes of Chris Russell and Wasim Jaffer are quality players and they have made a big difference."

Bromsgrove are also set to hand a debut to 16-year-old South African Adam Wiffen.

The youngster has been playing well for Pershore's second team. The left handed batsman who can also bowl is set to replace Adam Jones in the middle of the order.

He has also played for KwaZulu-Natal Inland under-15s and is a member of Warwickshire's academy side,

"It's a bit of a gamble with Adam but we like what we've seen of him," added Evenson.
