DROITWICH Spa’s new management team have made an immediate impact as the club picked up their first point of the season in the Midlands Division Two.
Spa drew 0-0 at Coton Green, ending a five-game losing streak in the league this season.
New managers Wayne Oliver and Mark Owen were delighted with the application of Spa’s players against the Tamworth-based outfit.
Droitwich remain bottom of table but Oliver is hoping Spa can move away from the foot of the table soon.
Oliver said: “The attitude and work-rate of the players has been first class, they have responded well to what we’ve asked of them.
“It was great to get off the mark (with a point) and it was an important result.
“At first we’re going to concentrate on being hard to beat and see where we’re going from there.
“We’ve targeted getting out of the bottom three by Christmas.”
The management are looking to make one or two additions but are happy with the squad overall.
Spa entertain Paget Rangers in the league on Saturday (3pm ko).
