FAIRFIELD Villa played their part in an entertaining 2-2 with Earlswood Town in Midlands Division Two.

Pete Jenvey opened the scoring with the game’s first goal but Villa were pegged back when Joshua Allen-Noble equalised.

Aaron Williams Collins was in fine form in goal with a host of fine saves.

Connor Collins restored their lead on 24 minutes but Earlswood had the best of the second half with substitute Alex Knight smashing in a long-range angled effort.

Joint manager Paul Oakes said: “It was a really entertaining clash and I think a point was fair enough.

“We had the best of the game in the first half but Earlswood certainly were the better team in the second.

The draw was impressive as Villa were missing 11 players but young right back Rob Smith, 18, and left-back Matthew Collins both stepped up well to the first team.

Villa have a free weekend and resume action on on October 25 against Upton in the Worcestershire Junior Cup.
