MEADOW Park Under-13s have made a flying start to the new year with two wins.

They travelled to neighbours Droitwich Spa on Saturday and won 3-0.

Park battled strong winds to lead by one goal at half-time, while Cain Ellis, Joe Green and Milton Bowers fought hard early on as Spa started brightly, but long-range efforts were unable to trouble Daniel Kearney and the visitors gradually took control of the game.

Debutant Harri Genner combined well with George McNie and Todd Bold as Terrel Jeffers opened the scoring.

With the wind behind them in the second half the, Park dominated for long periods.

A further goal from Jeffers was followed by a fine passing move from defence to attack that was converted by Josh Done for 3-0 and secured the points.

Meadow Park retain top spot in the Worcestershire FA County Youth Development League as second and third placed Newtown and Kidderminster Lions drew.

On Sunday, a trip to Bournville to face South Birmingham Alliance saw Park facing an even stronger wind, but they recorded an 8-0 win.

Done netted the first after Green’s spot-kick was saved, and drilled home a second minutes later as Park controlled the game. Jeffers added a third before skipper Elliot Ward netted when put through by Danny Shaw.

A wind-assisted second period saw Park camped in the home side’s half to the extent that goalkeeper Dan Meredith never touched the ball.

Harry Tudge notched the fifth, with Jacob Willis adding the sixth and seventh following strong runs from Pete Efiong. Sam Gordon found Theo Fields, who drilled a shot in off the bar to seal a comprehensive win.

Meanwhile, Santiago Colts Under-11s defeated Castle Bromwich 5-0 with goals for McKenzie O’Sullivan (2), Finbarr McAndrew (2) and Harry Neal.

The Under-16s Girls saw off Kinver 5-2 thanks to efforts by Megan Bailey (2,) Beth Breen (2) and Reah Scott.

Santiago Lions Under-13s beat Sheldon 3-1, as James Hughes, Dominic Gentleman and Jamie Rooney scored.

The Under-13 Girls beat Marston Green 1-0, with Keron Mambonzo scoring.

Santiago’s Under-15s Colts drew 2-2 with Harborne Youth, and the Under-17s recorded the same score against Castle Bromwich United. A wonder goal from Cassius Clapham saw the Under-12 Allstars draw 1-1 draw with Bournville.
