DROITWICH Spa Hockey Men were shot down 8-0 by high-scoring Bloxwich in the West Midlands Divison One.
Spa had little luck in the first half and fell 4-0 down, with Andy Griffiths looking their brightest attacking player.
After the break, Droitwich saw David Hindle cautioned with a green card after a heavy stick challenge.
Alexei Payne consistently found space at right-back and proved to be an effective link between defence and the midfield.
Simon Baines tested the goalkeeper with a firm shot.
And Richard Waters had an effort closed down by the keeper as Droitwich pushed for a lifeline.
But Spa suffered a setback when Peter Prenderville took a painful blow to an ankle and he had to be replaced.
The hosts pushed forward and Bloxwich used the aerial ball to utilise the space with the away side adding a further four goals to leave the final score 8-0.
Droitwich are away Yardley next who have had not won in 12 games.
The Ladies were edged out 2-1 by Bournville.
After a bright start, they fell behind to a breakaway strike.
But Lucy Hine drew the Spa side level following a well-hit Susan Williams penalty corner.
Droitwich continued their domination but Bournville were able to capitalise on an umpiring mistake and double their lead with a dubious goal.
Droitwich continue to fight to level the score but unfortunately were unable to do so. The Ladies make the short trip to Worcester this weekend.
