JAMES Lemon bagged a brace as impressive Droitwich Spa stunned title-chasing Barnt Green Spartak with a memorable 3-2 win.

Lemon slotted a penalty and then finished off a skilful dribble with a fine effort from the edge of the area to seal all three points.

Joint manager Wayne Oliver said: “It was a very good performance by the lads, it was probably their best performance of the season.

“It was an important win too, as all of the teams around us won.

“The first 15 minutes was absolutely frantic but we managed to edge ahead just before half-time.

“We defended very well and James won the game with a world clash strike.”

Spa had been fired ahead when Jimmy Ward slotted home in the sixth minute.

But Spartak responded with gusto with two goals but Lemon finished coolly from the spot, before finishing an entertaining game with a fine effort to make it six goals in seven games. Droitwich entertain Leicester Road at home on Saturday (3pm ko).
