FAIRFIELD Villa remain hunting for silverware on two fronts after a determined display saw off Littleton.

The Recreation Ground outfit booked their place in the last eight of the Smedley Crooke Cup as John Pykett and Connor Collins scored to seal a second half fight back.

Villa will tackle Studley away in April and are also in the final of the Worcestershire Junior Cup, where they will play Inkberrow.

While Fairfield's free-scoring forwards bagged the goals to sink Littleton, who play a level above in Division One, joint manager Paul Oakes was quick to praise the likes of Lewis Cosgrove, Shane Calder, Ben Smith and Craig Mole.

He said: "Littleton are from a level above and have the better players but we stood our ground and defended well.

"Shane, Ben and Lewis were very solid, while Craig had to make three or four very good saves.

"Littleton will have been disappointed not to have scored more in the first half but after that we played well.

"Connor's goal was very good, he controlled the ball with one touch, beat the defender and used his right foot to beat the keeper.

"John hit a firm shot which took a deflection off a defender but we deserved to win."

The quarter-final against Studley is set to be moved to the Beehive because of a delay in the previous round against Worcester Raiders.

Villa now go to Barnt Green Spartak on Saturday (3pm ko), a side who leading the chasing pack in second place.
