BROMSGROVE Tennis Club’s juniors have enjoyed outstanding success over the winter season.

The County Championships saw the mini Orange Team nine and under team win their league with great displays from the boys and girls who took part.

In the mini Green competition (10 and under) Bromsgrove boys ran out champions and the girls were close runners-up.

Finally the mini red team eight and under category, they were also runners-up.

Bromsgrove were the only club in the county to have teams in all junior age groups reach the finals, which reflected the strength in depth and quality of coaching at the club.

There have also been some outstanding individual performances from some young rising stars.

Joe Hart’s results in local, regional and national tournaments saw him invited to the National Tennis Centre to compete against the country’s top 16 grade one players.

After some close matches he finished 11th to maintain his position as a player with a great future.

Not to be outdone, playing in the nine and under age group, Patrick Niedzwiedz’s success in local and regional tournaments led to him being invited to the Olympic Park to compete in the Powder Byrne Finals against the 15 other best regional players.

After qualifying from his first round group he lost in the quarter finals against the eventual winner and finished sixth.

Head Coach James Griffiths said: “Yet again Bromsgrove has shown we are the strongest junior club in the County."
