THOMAS Cunningham-Smith may get the chance to fill the hole left by the injured Connor Collins.

Collins, who has scored 35 goals this season, could be sidelined for the rest of the campaign after picking up a knee injury in Saturday's 1-0 win over Leicester Road.

Cunningham-Smith ensured all three points with his strike as Fairfield made it seven wins in a row.

Joint manager Paul Oakes said: "I really feel for Connor, he picked up an injury with an innocuous moment when he was holding up the ball.

"It's a blow for him, he's been up front and honest with us. He could have played at a higher level with Worcester City but wanted to see out the season with us.

"We'll see what happens, Connor's been a big part of our season and it would be a shame for him to miss the rest of it.

"I must say Thomas has been unlucky this season.

"He's not played much because of the form of Connor, John Pykett and Ellis Blakemore but when he has played he's scored."

Villa also booked their place in the semi-finals of the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup with a 4-0 win over crisis-hit Studley last Thursday, with goals for Blakemore, Collins, Pykett and Jenvey.

That set up a clash against Redditch Borough, the reserve side of Redditch United, which was played at the Valley Stadium on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Shane Calder will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

The Kidderminster resident has a boxing match coming up and the club has given their blessing to him focusing on his bout.

Villa are now fifth in the Midlands Division Two and are chashing second place. They entertain FC Glades Sporting on Saturday (3pm ko).
