VICTORIA Barnt Green Fairfield sealed the Bromsgrove and District League Premier Division by the narrowest of margins.

They pipped second-placed Hare and Hounds on goal difference after a huge effort over the last week.

Fairfield needed to win three games over the last seven days and an inferior goal-difference.

Their week didn’t get off to a good start when Alvechurch Lions failed to raise a side for their trip to Fairfield on Tuesday evening but in accordance with league rules, the points were awarded to Fairfield.

This made their task even harder but an incredible 15-2 win at Belbroughton Athletic on Thursday night meant they entered Sunday's game with Thomas Brothers simply needing to win the match to be crowned champions.

VBG Fairfield won this one 6-0 and this set off joyous scenes of delight in the dressing room post match as the title was retained for the third season running – a tremendous achievement.

A hat-trick today from tricky winger Ellis Blakemore two from master craftsman Richard Bishop and one for midfielder Peter Jenvey.
