GIFTED young fighter Sian O’Toole ensured that the season ended on a high for Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy and herself with a stylish victory.

The youngster made the long journey up to Hull and the trip was certainly worth it as she stopped Jessica Harrington of the Headstrong Boxing Academy in the third round following a powerful display in which she was on top throughout.

Sian’s superb straight shots began overwhelming her opponent from the first bell.

A combination of strength and powerful body punches then had Harrington pinned in the corner for much of the second round before O'Toole's domination forced the referee to call a halt to the contest in the third.

The win means that Sian is the first female Droitwich Academy boxer to go the whole season undefeated, much to the delight of her coach, Jason Doyle.

“I couldn’t have asked any more of Sian this season,” he said.

“She really does deserves the success that has been achieved as she has never missed a training session, gets all of her sparring in and is fully dedicated to the sport.

“She is a top prospect and will be boxing at championship level next season.”

Any ladies wishing to follow Sian’s lead are welcome to attend the ladies only training sessions at the Academy’s King George Playing Fields headquarters.

These take place between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursdays and also between 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday mornings.
